Summary: Rosie’s always been a little different—being the only mermaid in the kingdom with a red tail will do that to a girl. And unlike everyone else, she can’t exactly hide her differences. Not to mention the fact that her grandmother and aunt fell prey to a curse when she was six and now Aquaria’s safety is dependent on the two evil witches remaining at each other’s throats instead of turning their powers on everyone else. When Rosie’s grandmother stops checking in and someone has to brave the magical kelp forest, Rosie jumps at the chance to escape the city gossips and her mother’s disappointment. But getting through the forest and rescuing her grandmother will take more than just a desire to escape; she’ll have to draw on the deepest parts of herself, learn to use everything she is, including her wretched tail, and accept help from a handsome stranger.
